Why we follow Jesus
We believe that Jesus is the clearest and most complete view of God that we are able to see.
But we not only see God in Jesus. We experience God intimately as we follow Jesus and his way of love and peace and as we encounter God’s image in our neighbors. It is through Jesus’ life, his death, and his resurrection from the dead that we are given new life. We are restored to be who God originally created each and every one of us to be.
Simply put, we live for something greater than ourselves, and we don’t do this alone. We live for something greater alongside one another. Following Jesus is a journey. We welcome you to join us in this journey. It will change your life forever. We know because it’s changed ours.
Who are United Methodists?
The United Methodist Church is a 12.3 million-strong global church that opens hearts, opens minds and opens doors through active engagement with our world. You can read more about our denomination’s mission statement and service as disciples across the world by clicking on the above link.
John Wesley and other early Methodists placed primary emphasis on Christian living, on putting faith and love into action. This emphasis on truly following Jesus in all we do continues to be a hallmark of United Methodism today. The basics of our faith
We yearn to live into the call on our lives to be the hands and feet of Jesus Christ to the world. To live out this calling, we keep our Christian roots, which we share with Christians around the world, at the very foundation of our faith. Read more here about out the basics of our faith.
